That b'guard looks like it came from the Nissan factory....so my best guess judging from the headlight protectors and the front bars....it came standard from the factory as add-on by Nissan.

Aftermarket brushguard have wires in the headlight guards.....b'guards from factory doesn't.

 

Most of the factory brushguards were provided by Manik. There is one other manufacture but I can't think of them off the top of my head. Look at my build thread and see if yours looks like mine that I had. The differences between the two mfg's were the support pillars. Manik's were contoured with the front of the X while the others were more of a straight vertical.

I checked out your build thread, but i don't think that is the same manufacture.
I added some pics to the original post to better show the frame mounts and the thickness of the vertical supports.

I really like the look and it seems more substantial than most brush guards I've seen. I'm going to do the 2" BL this spring and will have to get this off the X, but for now I'm happy with it.

Anyone seen one of these? I think TN4x4Xterra is probably right that it is factory, because of the holes in the splash shield look like they were formed that way and not drilled for guard to pass through to the frame.

 

It's a factory guard. That's the one I thought you had. I'm not having any luck finding the manufacturer of that one though.

 

Waag and Weston are the 2 other makers of guards. You can go to their sites and look if the other sites don't show anything like yours.



Although if doing a BL, I'm not sure why you'd go through the trouble of getting a guard which would have to come off again anyway?

And if its for ANOTHER X, couldn't you just take the guard off the one getting the BL, and use that for the other X?

 

I found the same guard for an 00-01 on the site. It was in John's Tatanka build.
He lists it as Nissan Factory Guard.

It is half way down the page. You can see his mounts through the splash guard to frame as well.

*I have the guard on the X now. I just was trying to figure out who made it.

Do you guys think these are more substantial as far as Brush Guards go? I'm not planning on bouncing any senior citizens off of it or anything, but it gives me a small piece of mind that it mounts to the frame rails directly instead of just underneath.
