I have BOTH Skid-Row, AND Shrock Skid Plates. (Took the Skid-Row plates off...)
I ran the S-R stuff in my Jeepin days too.
The S-R Stuff is very well made, and the powder coat holds up great....less to touch up.
I'll say the same thing about the Shrock plates...I got my Shrock skids powder coated, and my other Shrock stuff's powder coat is amazing....super tough.
I went with Shrock' s Skid Plates over getting Skid-Row's again because Shrock's offer better protection....and, its a better design.
Skid-Row's Plates are excellent though, they did their job...except they left some parts vulnerable to damage...and those parts are now able to be protected by the Shrock Plates.
So - Eric and Skid-Row are great, no complaints about their Jeep Stuff, or their X stuff as far as quality, personality, etc.
The Shrock Stuff is just better - that's all.
OK, what do my Skid-Row plates look like after extensive skid plate testing?
In short, they are beat up, but not dead.
They don't cover as much as the Shrock - but all of them are 3/16" steel, and the attachements are similar.
If doing it over, now that they're other options besides S-R, I'd take the Shrockworks.
