Not sure. I think he mentioned he was only like an hour and a half from CC. He said he is going to take more pics when he gets back home. He also said he would like to join us at CC in October.

He'll be back on today and will go into more detail. I think he's just excited that he is going to make it work and he doesn't seem scared to put a sawzall to his X. :D

^ i was scared to put a sawzall to my X before installing my roof lights.....had to drill a hole clear through my 2007 roof. Then I hit a tree on the passsenger side, and I jumped the truck in MOAB and smashed in a fender with the 34" tires and bent up the fenders more not properly torqing the front bumper and using it to winch....angled right up into the fender, so then I cut a crapton more fender off, and then bedlined my hood and rockers...and now...i am fearless when putting cutting tools to my X....which will come in handy with the snorkel install in a few weeks... ;)

looking forward to seeing pics of a stock gen1 on 33's! woot!

I'll give my experience, with 285/70/17, ~33"x11.5" Wrangler MTR's with Kevlar, no body lift, 3" SL lift. I cut nearly 1" of sheet metal on the front fenders, and hammered the pinch seam flat. I trimmed the plastic trim piece, and screwed it back on, making a new hole for the screw on the bottom, so it still sits up against the metal. I also cut up the front bumper some, but probably did more than I needed to, but I was trying to slim it up and make it look neat without the lower valance on. The only place I rub is the hard line shield on the passenger side frame on hard right turns.

The rear I did nothing, and I rub some, the plastic trim has rub marks on the front and back on both sides from Coal Creek, and I actually caught the one metal screw and ripped it out of the sheet metal and plastic on one side, had to bend back the metal. I felt it rubbing some when I was out at Gulches, but nothing major It would probably clear with out the plastics, but if I keep having issues I'll pull those off and roll the fender lips.

Sweet x man. I'm up in Kingsport when I'm not at school. I'm glad they are working for you, I bet the fact that they are used and worn down some helped a lot. You should try to come to Coal Creek with us in October.

You can stuff a 33" in the rear without problems. I've crammed mine so bad that it actually rubs the frame rail.
My body and frame rail are silver in those spots..lol

Looks good man. PML that thing!

OMFG, this topic never dies. Its like beating Napoleon's horse- it died in like 1790-something.

I put 33x12.5s on my stock wheels and wheel the life out of the Xterra with just a PML, flexed it until the wheels lifted off the ground and it was great, It only rubbed when the steering was fully locked.

I am now running 35x12.50s with just a 3" susp lift, i had to trim the fenders, but again- It only rubs when the steering is in full lock.

Cheers =)
