O2 sensor position???

Can anyone tell me which position sensor1, bank 2 will be on the 3.3l. I tried calling the dealership and they wont tell me, just keep telling me to bring it in.

I got a code a couple weeks ago that reads as follows:

: Heated oxygen sensor 1 lean shift monitoring (Bank 2)

The engine light went away the next day but I started getting a rotten egg smell. Talked to a mechanic today and they said it sounded like there was a fuel problem. I ran the scanner again and now no code. I am thinking I am just going to replace that o2 sensor just in case unless anyone else has any better ideas?

Are you sure it would be passenger side. I read something somewhere saying that it would be opposite of cylinder 1 and cylinder 1 is on the passenger side???? That would mean, if it's true, that it is driver side.

Ok, really getting frustrated now. I just went and bought a manual. In the Manual the code reads (right bank) instead of (bank 2). So needless to say I am still confused. Is right bank the passenger side of the vehicle or the right side of the motor if you are standing in front of working on it???????????????????

You refer to any work preformed on the engine by facing in front of the engine. Atleast this is what I was professionally trained. Chassis work though is preformed from sitting in the seat. This makes them opposite. Left side facing the engine is cylinder number 1,which is bank 1 then right side is bank 2, So would you be replacing the rear sensor on bank 1, which is the catalyst monitoring sensor. A rotten egg smell indicates a sulfated converter and probably sensor as well. I'd highly recommend an injector cleaning with the proper de-sulferization additive for your cat..Then replace the sensor and you should be ready to go...
You mention it being the rear sensor on bank 1, but the code reads sensor 1, bank 2?? I also do know for sure that cylinder 1 is on the front passenger side of the engine, so bank 2 should be the driver side and sensor 1 should be the 1st sensor (the one on the manifold)??????

170 you need to shop around
I did, 1st I went to the local parts store and I told them 04 X 3.3 and they gave me a $60 sensor, turned out to be wrong one, they swapped it for another, also wrong. Another part's store ordered one for me from out of town but priced jumped to $125, wrong one again. Took the old one all over town and had no luck finding a matching sensor. Finally had to got to the dealership and have one ordered based on the vin#, hence the $170. Apparently my X has different sensor's than every damned 04!!!!!!!!!WTF
