Used Parts - Your Experience

My ABS module is showing code 61. The shop checked the relays, power connections, etc. and it looks like the module itself is bad. The part alone is about a thousand bucks from Nissan and not available new from anywhere else.

I can get one from a junkyard for about $135. It supposedly comes with a 1-year warranty. I've never considered buying a used part before but can't see sinking $1000+ into my truck at this point.

Anybody have experience, good or bad, with used parts or with an ABS module code or failure like this?

I go to the junk yard when i need parts that arnt typically wear items. ABS would be a good pickup.

Got a replacement MAF there and its been great.

Does anyone know the difference between ABS Modulator part nbr 47660-7Z600 and 47660-7Z610? My truck has the one ending in 600 but multiple parts sites refer to the one ending in 610 as being the right one. ???

Here's the outcome on my ABS problem. Ordered a used pump module from Tom's Foreign Auto parts because it looked the least sketchy of the used parts sites. Comes with a 6-month warranty and you can pay extra for a lifetime money-back warranty if you want. Best of all, you see pics of the actual part so you can verify the part number is exactly what you need and also get to see pics of the vehicle the part was pulled from.

Just got in installed over the weekend and so far, so good.
