My Xterra is a 2005 with around 206K miles, so it's done great for me and I'm trying to keep it going as long as I can.
I started getting solenoid error codes after a long drive so after a bit of research and price checking, my options were to take it to a shop and repair the transmission for around $4K to $5K or try to replace the TCM myself. I went with option 2 and it seems to have gone well apart from one code I now have.
I followed this video to replace the TCM for anyone who's interested:
After reseting my codes and driving it for a little while, I got the service engine light and a P0710 error code, which seems to be my transmission sensor. Either it's too hot, cool, possibly too much or too little fluid or a faulty sensor.
So I'm looking for any ideas or guidance on what to try first. Should I do another flush of the fluids or is there a way to replace the sensor? Where would I locate the sensor and how do I replace it, if that's a good option?
Any ideas or suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance!
