I replaced bank 1, sensor 1 and found there is a threaded collar around the sensor. It came out of the manifold with the sensor so at first glance it looked like the old sensor had a larger diameter than the new sensor. It required a lot of effort to remove the collar from the old sensor but it all went back together easily with some anti-sieze applied to the threads.
