Is there a list of parts that are needed for 2003 3.3 L timing belt change, including hoses and stuff needing to be changed at that time? I probably will get at Rock Auto.

If you have the FSM (it's free to download, if not), it tells you all the steps. I suppose you could make a list.

When I did my 2001, and then later my 2004, I ordered a kit from RA. The 2001 needed the harmonic balancer replaced, so when I did the 2004 I just bought it outright.

For the air hoses, I took mine down to the local auto parts and bought hose that was about the size I needed. For heater and radiator hoses, they're still available most places.

While doing the 2004, I lost one of the 2 little pieces (grommet-front cover) that goes between the cover and the engine. I also noticed how the rubber grommets on the bolts were cracking. I ordered this kit from RA as well:

Thanks a bunch. I thought I'd replied to everyone but haven't posted much and not used to the site yet. Your info is appreciated very much. I hope to do the job as weather permits. My shop is not heatd. I'll get everything ordered soon.
Is there any brand at RA that's the best?

You might also benefit from knowing what bolt lengths go where, and whether you're missing any, by using this info:

Z1 Motorsport sells a kit for the timing belt including a water pump. I’m sure the kit may be available through the dealership or elsewhere.

Thanks! All your info is appreciated! I want to have all the parts needed before I start. My only spare vehicle is a 2005 VTX that's is not as dependable as it used to be. I don't look forward to the job but I do all my work, on everything. Thanks again and I have the manual on hard drive somewhere and will read over it also. I know there's other parts that may need replacing while I'm at it. Thanks a bunch for your reply!!

Thanks a lot! All your info is of great help. I'm preparing to order maybe next week and will study up on it before hand. I know there are other items I need not in the kit. I'd like all the parts before I start. This 2003 Xterra has about 300,000 on it soon and the engine code light has never be out since I bought it years a go, but it's still running. Thanks a bunch!!

I did do a how to write up on changing the timing belt which is on this site. There may be others also. I can find a link if you like. In my defense it was years ago.
