I've been looking for an Xterra for a little while now and I've found a couple but none like this one. Its a first gen atomic orange. I absolutely love the color and the seller is doing 4500 at the lowest. I need to go and drive /see it but does this seem a fair price? It's got about 151k on it and the seller says that all the major maintenance has been done. I'm getting the vin so I can get like a Carfax(or something similar).

Is there anything to be on the look out for? It's over in KY which is about 2-2 1/2 hour drive over there and I don't really want to waste my time over there....

It's beautiful! I think they only came in that color one year.

I would bring a jack, and test the front ball joints and tie rod ends, and make sure he can confirm that the timing belt has been done per regular maintenance schedule.

Kind of a noob question, but how do you test the ball joints and tie rode ends? I am kinda mechanical inclined, but unfortunately I've never had to do either of those myself.

You'll need to jack it up under the lower control arm. To check ball joints or wheel bearing place your hands at 12 and 6 o'clock then lift and push in, this can also be done with a pry bar. Then placing your hands at 3 and 9 o'clock try twisting the tire side to side for tie rod slack.

I love my Atomic Orange X! It's pretty much the least common X color on the road. Might be a close run with the shock blue and denim blue for rarity.

It seems there were a number of colors that had a single year run.
