kayso, last year, i took my 2003 3.3L 2WD to the dealership to find out what caused the check engine light to come on. they told me it was the passenger side rear catalytic converter. they were WAY too much so i got it changed today at a reputable local place. i have been to the emission inspection station 2x and it wouldn't pass (the light wasn't on). test results there said was in driver cycle(?) and OBD results said the following: comm, pass; mil, pass; koeo, pass; koer, pass; not ready, cat, egr. i drove 100+ miles and no change. then, the light comes back on. i go to auto zone and get the following codes: po420, po430. is it another cat? o2 sensor? any and all help will be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

The P0420 and P0430 is the cats on bank 1 and 2. I dont think the cats are actually bad in your car. Im having the same issue right now and made the mistake of replacing the cat which is an expensive part and it solved nothing. I would try to find out what is causing the code. It could be the rear O2 sensors which again i doubt. the car could be running lean or have an exhaust leak. You can put spacers on the rear O2 sensors to help pass emissions but it wont fix the problem.
