So I have had my 2004 xterra for about 6 months now, and recently it has started to may a weird whining noise when I turn my steering wheel. I have checked my power steering fluid levels a few times and it isn't going down, but the problem is getting slightly worse as time goes on. Recently when I turn I have started to feel a slight tugging on the wheel as well.

Any help would be appreciated! I just hope my power steering pump isn't going out :crying:

Thanks in Advance :D

The power steering belt is too loose or may need a new one if it has crack marks on the inside of the belt.

Remove the hoses, drain out as much fluid as you can, use fresh ATF and new bulk hose/fuel line with worm gear clamps. Solved it for me.

Yep. Fluid could be in need of a change, or that belt is bad.
