The rubber steering wheel in the 03 XTerra I just bought is pretty rough on top, and it looks rather simple to replace. I did find the same rubber one on ebay, but it sounds like they also came in leather?? Anyone know where or who might sell them besides the dealer? I would imagine they would be pretty pricey there.
Sounds like I am looking for a 02-04 XTerra/Frontier one.

Anyone have any first hand experience replacing the wheel?

Your not alone. The 100 days of over 100 degree heat last summer caused the rubber to bubble on my 2007 S steering wheel. Need to repair/replace.

If you are concerned about price, you could always either buy a steering wheel cover or wrap it yourself with leather or cloth.

I ended up ordering a wheelskins cover since it was just a bit cheaper than another crappy new rubber wheel. I think it will be nice having leather, and I am pretty good at installing that sort of stuff! I will update with pics once I get it and get it on there in this thread:
