Hey guys, I need to change out my transmission fluid for the first time since getting my Xterra and I'm not entirely sure what kind of transmission fluid to use for it. Any suggestions on what is best to use would be really appreciated. My Xterra is a 2002 SE V6 3.3L non SC automatic.

How often are you guys changing out the ATF fluid on your 1st gens? Are you doing a simple drain and refill?

Just go off what the owners manual states. I think it's like usually 60k but if you do a lot of stop and go, towing, and or hilly drives than you would replace it sooner. You can tell just by smell and the color of the fluid. If it smells anything like burned sugar then change it. If it's not cherry red than change it. You can Google atf color chart.
