I poked around about the smoke coming from the tail pipe. I can't tell if it's oil or coolant yet. I'll need to do additional testing.

I ordered a new Hitachi MAF0025 Mass Air Flow Sensor. I have a feeling my current one is going bad or dirty. Amazon had it for 78 bucks. It's winter and cleaning the original 17-year-old part isn't the best idea. I got the full assembled one and they're made in Japan, not Mexico, which is plus. I will clean the original one this spring and keep it as a backup.

Recently purchased an 04 Xterra 3.3 liter se supercharged with only 104,xxx miles. Dealer said there were only 4 available for sale in the entire US... Adjusted torsion bars to get an extra half inch of front end lift. Ordered some bilstein 5100 shocks for front and rear. Ordered an adjustable leaf spring shackle for a rear lift. (Can't wait to install!)
Only down side is the knock sensor code bank 1 circuit input high is being thrown. Was thinking about relocating it, but to my research that sounds like it will not truly perform as designed. Just gets rid of the SES light.

It is usually relocated on the Normally Aspirated models (Or ignored outright) because it doesn't really do anything other than alert you to a knock since we don't have variable timing. It does however, do something on the SuperCharged models and a bad knock sensor can drop you into limp mode. On a SC I would simply replace it and keep it where it is so that it can do it's job properly. Others who actually have an SC (mine is not) may chime in to correct me on this.

Ordered new upper and lower ball joints, the lowers need replacing bad. Hopefully I can do a bunch with my front end in coming weeks, have had new axles sitting in the garage waiting for a reason to go in, gotta adjust a tie rod to fix my front drivers side wheel, and then somehow get my stripped fill plug off my front diff and ill be able to finally take this thing off road!

Trying to get the drivers side exhaust manifold heat shield off so I can replace it with a header. I can barely fit my hands in the drivers side with the wheel off. Passenger side is done. So many people said a 2" body lift helped, so I ordered parts for that today. This 2000 model is completely stock otherwise.

Man I replaced the manifold and cat on that side a couple months ago and that was the worst experience of my life. The intake plenum should probably come off to get good access to things on that side but somehow I managed to get the whole thing out with minimal scrapes and bent metal. So you can do it!

Added radio steering wheel controls. I also wired in the heated steering wheel. I upgraded the steering wheel to a Pathfinder with leather and the radio controls as well as heated wheel. Took a while to figure all the wiring out and I had to replace the clock spring with one with the heated wheel wiring. Well worth it to me.

Finally got my custom lighting bracket in to mount my daylighters on the roof. Got it and the lights mounted up on top and I'm really happy with the look. Lights aren't wired up yet, and I don't think they will be until I get the rack finished. I still need to modify the center brackets since the middle lights hit the top of the air deflector and won't go on straight (I've temporarily solved that problem by shoving a few washers under the mounts to raise it a quarter inch). When that's done I'm going to have to go get it powder coated to complete the look.

This is the first part of my build, I'm still waiting on a full set of bumpers and skids from shrockworks and a lift from 4x4 parts. I can't wait to have everything together!

I added satellite radio to my 2004 today, which is something I've wanted to do forever. I built off my previous mod which added AUX to the factory head unit with today's work. Almost everything is hidden behind the dash, keeping the clean factory look. I didn't want to add more wires dangling everywhere. The antenna is mounted on the back of my truck and the cable goes in though the tailgate. It's all hidden behind the headliner and trim pieces; running the antenna cable was the easiest part of the install. For power, I bought a set of cigarette lighters and modified the end so that it had a fuse tap. Plugged it into my fuse box, grounded the other end and I had a cigarette lighter behind my dash which I used to power the unit. Plugged everything up, mounted it in a nice place, and finally I got satellite radio in my car, a dream I've had for several years now.

And I was feeling fancy too. I was worried that if I was ever on a trail beneath some tree cover I might lose the satellite signal so I added a switch to switch between the satellite input and and AUX input. Bottom cable goes to the satellite receiver, middle one goes to the radio, and the top one goes to my phone. You can hardly see this when driving.

Finally got the BFG K02s. I've been wanting them for a long time. Noticed other trucks with them every where I went. But I love them. Well worth the money. New tires fresh coat of paint on the rims. Fresh oil change. And shes looking good!
