In an effort to get to know you guys better outside of strict technical X knowledge......I looked around and didn't see this thread anywhere. I suppose I could go through and read all if the introductions and that would get ME somewhere....but what about everyone else? (it's a community thing....get it?)

So, on that notion....I'll start.

I do super-high end home theaters. Million dollar houses, large corporate complexes, etc. From prewire to finished product. Before that, I did PC/network crap for more than 10 years. As a result, I am a huge Mac fan....but just too poor to own a real one.

I am however trying to get into law enforcement (local PD).....which should not be an issue once I fix some blemishes on my credit from many years ago.

Okay, now your turn!

Starting an apprenticeship with the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) in Pittsburgh in about ten days or so. Can't wait! I've been an electrician in the Navy Seabees for four years.

Well right now I work as a maintenance man for a rich couple. They have various employees who work for them. Its a full time job just to maintain a huge house. But tomorrow morning I am going for a interview for a maintenance position that is much higher paying, better hours, and much better benefits. Would be nice to have it work out.

I'm going to school for mechanical engineering and I scored an internship at B&W, doing CAD drawings of stuff I can't describe legally lol, which is the place I had wanted to work for since high school. www.babcock.com. My dad's worked there for 20+ years. Definitely a great place to work

Before that though I worked for classic cookie fundraising, www.classiccookie.com for 2 and a half years. I did everything from delivering cookie dough to schools to unloading tractor-trailer loads of cookie dough with the forklift to pulling orders in huge freezer to baking thousands of cookies for board meetings to putting together sellers packets. Plus I got free cookie dough whenever I wanted.. and its the good stuff too! All name brand products and Its the best cookie dough out there! We carry Auntie Annie products as well. I loved working there and I know I could get a job there again in a heart beat.. seeing as how I'd been there longer than all but 3 people lol.. but my job at B&W pays double what I made at the cookie place and its the career path I'm actually going for so the choice was obvious

I do environmental safety and health related forensic investigations, and assessments of site conditions, then tell them how to fix what's wrong/how far to run away.

:D

I do get paid to drive off road, which is a plus.

On and off for the last 27 years, and for the last 10 where I'm at now, I have been lucky enough to work in motorsports specifically AMA Pro motorcycle roadracing. My current position is parts and logistics manager but I have worked as both a chassis and engine builder over the years.

I make big rocks into little rocks. Operate heavy equipment in a quarry and also do site development, residential and commercial. Build roads, storm drains, sewer lines, water mains, parking lots, ponds, and pretty much anything else that has to do with moving dirt.

I work for a company that deals in tradeshow and museum exhibits as well as simulators. My title is Exhibit Inventory Manager (basically I run our warehouse) and my secondary title is Field Engineer. The latter is where clients (Siemens, Kobelco Welding, Space and Missile Defense Command to name a few) contract me out to travel with their exhibits and supervise their install and dismantle. These contracts put me on the road upwards of two or more weeks but it's travel with all expenses paid including a nice per diem (which comes in handy in Vegas... lol). I'll be leaving for D.C. in just over a week then hopping straight over to Dallas for another week to do another event.
