What or how is the best way to replace/recondition the plastic on the front of my 2002 X? It's taken a beating over the last 10 years.

Redoing the plastics on mine made a huge difference. You'll be glad you did!
I don't know what year you have. But my grille had little clips I squeezed and twisted, and the grille came right off. Just work slowly when removing it so you don't crack it. They come off pretty easy.

I'd recommend Krylon Fusion spraypaint over bedliner. I did my grille with Krylon and the front bumper with bedliner. The bedliner is falling off in places, it's weakest at edges and corners. It starts falling off there and peeling back. I prepared both equally, washing with dawn and scuffing with sandpaper. The Krylon held better.

I do remember someone here warning against using the bedliner on plasics, but as usual I didn't listen to someone with experience and learned the hard way. Don't be like me. If you're curious, I can go out and snap a few pics and post them later so you can compare the bedliner vs. spray paint.

If you really want the textured look of bedliner, I remember someone saying that if you clean, scuff, spray paint and then use bedliner it will hold much better. Don't know about that though, I've only read it on the internet. Never tried it.

If you still want the textured look you can buy Rustoleum Underbody Spray. RobCaryNC used it and it looks awesome. You can probably use the search function for "RobCaryNC" and find his thread where he snaps pic's and stuff.

Oatmeal....As soon as I reads your thread starter, I was out the next day buying fusion, and the rustoleum spray. I was glad you posted that. My truck looks completely different. "Two thumbs up for you bro"!
