Hey all! I did quite a lot of work to my front suspension over the last few weeks.
-New control arms
-New tie rods (inner, outer, adjusting screw)
-Repacked wheel bearings
-New sway bar bushings
-New torsion bar mounts
-New Sway-a-way torsion bar
I followed the FSM for everything, including the new torsion bar. I started with the rear mounts at 37-38mm from the bottom of the frame (FSM calls for 25mm-39mm). And then I tightened the adjusting bolts until 68mm of bolt was protruding from the top of the frame.
I also ensured that the bars were facing the proper direction. L on the driver side and R on the passenger.
Yet, it's sitting on the control arm bump stops. There is some amount of torsion, as I had to jack each control arm up at different points after installing the bars and there was definitely resistance. But when the vehicle is off stands, the front just sinks until it's stops on the control arms.
Did I miss something? Do I have to follow different instructions for the install of a Sway-a-way bar vs OEM bar? Why am I sitting on my control arms?
