Hi all! First post. I've been lurking for a while, and never found the time to do a proper intro with pictures. I have a 2000 Xterra SE, manual, 80k miles.

So my car threw a P0455 code this winter, and I also noticed a strong gas smell by the passenger side of my car. I started looking around, and found the filler vent hose had dry rotted and cracked, as well as the evap hose going from the tank, to the series of other hoses that make their way back to the canister. I thought I saw a rusty elbow coming off the tank as well...

I pulled the tank to replace hoses and found this:

Sooo.. new tank? Does anyone have a good source for Nissan replacement parts? I'm just hoping tanks can still be purchased.

Well, junk yards have them, and, Courtesy Nissan and Rock Auto are other good places to check.

I’m sorry I don’t have an answer to your question but you may to mine? I am getting the P0455 code and had the same Thing with the smell of gas etc. looked under my car I can’t even find the damn hoses or canister could you please tell me where to look or take a picture and send it to me maybe a of what the fucking thing looks like please??
