I was driving my '01 (v6, auto, 225,000 miles, 2x4) yesterday got to the intersection to turn left hit the gas, a little harder than I thought, from a stand still. It got the engine revving pretty high for a couple of seconds, checked the tach and the rpms dropped down to zero then back up to what they were supposed to be at that speed, and then I smelt a burning smell for a few seconds. Everything seemed to be running fine the rest of the way home, and on the way to work this morning. I'm praying that I didn't do any permanent damage. I always drive it pretty easy never beat on it or take it off road.
