Got my first car a few weeks ago a 2001 Nissan Xterra hopped on the highway and went "95MPH" which also was its top speed for which it actually cut engine power till i slowed down, turns out my speedometer is off by 5MPH under "80MPH" once i pass 80 it gets off by 10MPH anyone know a resolution to fix this?

Are the tires stock size?

i believe so when I got the car they came with 235/70R15 but than i got some temporary 215/70R15 just for the front but that didnt change anything.

You may have to take the vehicle to a shop to have the speedometer calibrated.

as satito said it likely needs a calibration shops can do this easy and fairly cheap
