Yeah one of the X's here in Utah has some he modified them and added a bracing plate so he could just bolt it in and not have to weld it. He also filled the tubing with sheet metal and put dipple dies in. They are good sliders, if I was going to do it over again I would buy these and modify them to work.

Yes, I have heard of them. There are a few frontier guys running them and they seem to like them. I think they are so cheap because you have to assemble them yourself, but that's not a big deal. If I end up not buying a bender this summer, I will be getting some for my truck.

They're only .120 tube, but that's the minimum for a trail rig with round bars. not as strong as the .134 or .184, etc, but ok for light duty.

There's places that sell tube of thicker gauge though, so if looking to do the gussetting and welding yourself, there may be stronger choices.

They are cool....they look pretty good.

But I am with TJ......when I make my sliders (if all goes well we will be starting on the 9th) they will be made out of 1/4'' thick metal. Gonna be heavy but....they wont flex. LOL

I have them on my Xterra. They are plenty strong and affordable at the same time. I am sure that there are stronger choices out there, but for the money you can't go wrong with them. They are fairly easy to assemble together if you know somebody with a welder...

Here are some pics for you if you want to check them out on my ride...

I bought the ones in the 58" length. The other ones are too long...

They could have been 2 inches longer to be perfect, but even in that lentgth they offer all the protection you need. Also, I did not buy Trail Gear gusset kits. I had plates made by a local machine shop to make sure they fit on the Xterra frame. They also cut some corner gussets for me. It cost me about $35...

I have done a few wheeling trips with these on and they are plenty strong even though the plates are not welded to the frame at the moment. I used two bolts per plate with three plates for each side. Total of 6 bolts per side.

I have had the truck hung on rocks with these on and even tested them with a hi-lift on each side without any problems.

I also sprayed them with bedliner in a can for a durable finish.

If they were about 2" longer on each side, they would be ideal. However, they still protect the sides very well. My X looks different now, since these are not my wheels nor tires. These were my buddy's 33s I put on to see how much fender sheet metal had to be cut to fit my new 33s... So, I could take a current picture for you that would show the sides now. I took about an inch off of the fenders behind the wheels to fit the 33s. Then I put the trimmed mudflaps back so that i have some protection from the mud spray...

How would one do for a 2" BL?

Custom bolt-on gussets and attach 2" higher?
