So we all know the story, only choice for a rear locking diff on a first gen xterra is a expensive ARB or TJM locker.

I'm looking to pickup a rear end axle with a locking diff. According to the website below, they sell these for a decent price. How do these axles have a rear locking diff if the first gen xterra never came with a rear locking diff. Is this just false advertisement?

It's just misinformation. You could look for a rare 31 spline 99 Frontier rear axle and use a lock rite locker or Detroit.

So oddly enough I found someone selling a 2003 frontier rear axle with an ARB locker. See below:

C200 Axle 31 spline shafts
ARB air locker installed. Air line still connected.
5.14 Nismo Gears
Complete with brakes and parking brake cable.

Can anyone tell me about the 5.14 nismo gearing? Pros and cons? Will it work with my 02 xterra ?
