Rugged ridge manual locking hubs

I've had these hubs for about 6 months now, and whenever I put them in 4x2 (disengaged) it sounds like my t case is making a nasty grinding\ratcheting noise. What could it be? It wasn't occurring until a couple of months ago, also it is intermittent. It goes away as soon as I lock it back into 4x4.
