As mentioned in one of my previous threads I was told when I bought my 02 that it had a broken timing belt and as it turned out the timing belt was not broken so I buttoned up everything, gave the engine a squirt of quick start and the engine started but will not run. I have gone through the forums and I have power from the relay to the fuel pump for the specified 5 seconds but pump does no whine so I have a bad fuel pump. I have gone through the forums and pictures but cannot figure out how to get the fuel pump or sender out.
So I have gotten as far as removing back seat and covers, supply and return hoses and connectors, the sender is loose and I can lift up about 2-3 inches until the black return line inside the tank is snug.
Now do I need to remove this black return line next, I have tried but the tabs do not push in for me to release or do I pry them outward? If this is what I need to do then how do you remove the pump, I read you need to release a tab inside the tank, do you reach in with your hand or use something to release this tab?
I also checked codes and I have 0 faults and 3 pending, vehicle has been sitting for 7 years!
Thanks,
Corky
