Hi,

2003 XE. Seems like I have to replace hoses constantly here in the desert.

Power steering hose has a minor leak between the hose and the metal part (attached a picture), but I haven't seen this type of connection before. How does it work? Do I have to replace just the hose, or do I have to replace this metal connector too? Looks like the metal part can be unscrewed from the sensor housing there with pliers, but how is the rubber connected?

Also if anyone has a proper name or part number for what I need to search for would be great. Price estimate?

Thanks,

Triath

I have the same issue with my power steering line, as I am also in the desert. It really takes a toll on everything plastic and rubber. Anyway, there is an awesome write-up someone has already done on this and posted to this forum:

Should be at that link. If for whatever reason it's not, go to the How to/DIY section and look for the Sticky titled "List of all DIYs". I start there every time I have something needs fixin'. Unfortunately you'll probably have to replace the whole hose and depending on which it is (if not all of them), it can be up to $70.
