Have seen lots of threads asking for help with these 2 codes but not one where a successful repair was posted.
Please let me know if you know of a successful fix when it's NOT oil level or quality related. Thank you.

P0011 - "A" Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Advanced or System Performance (Bank 1)

A P0011 DTC trouble code may be caused by one or more of the following: Incorrect camshaft timing Wiring problems (harness/wiring) in intake timing control valve control solenoid system Continuous oil flow to VCT piston chamber Failed timing valve control solenoid (stuck open)

P0021 - "A" Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Advanced or System Performance (Bank 2)

A P0021 DTC trouble code may be caused by one or more of the following: Incorrect camshaft timing Wiring problems (harness/wiring) in intake timing control valve control solenoid system Continuous oil flow to VCT piston chamber Failed timing valve control solenoid (stuck open)

A P0021 code refers to the VVT (variable valve timing) or VCT (variable camshaft timing) components and the car's PCM (powertrain control module) or ECM (engine control module). VVT is a technology used in the engine to allow it to get greater power or efficiency at different running points. That consists of a few different components but the P0021 DTC specifically refers to the camshaft (cam) timing. In this case, if the cam timing is above a set limit (over-advanced), the engine light will be illluminated and the code will be set. The "A" camshaft is either the intake, left, or front camshaft.

A P0021 engine code is basically the same as a P0011 code, except this is for Bank 2, not Bank 1.

Gladly reporting that after replacing both IVT solenoids, the codes haven't come back. Previously the ECM used to throw codes about 200 feet after leaving the parking lot.

The old ones were not clogged or dirty inside, but definitely sticking. My multimeter is down so wasn't able to measure resistance. Anyways, I was hesitating to buy the new solenoids since no one ever posted that this was a fix, but glad of making that decision.
