Noob tire question: 265-75 v 285-75
I'm a tire noob. I have a 2010 Xterra Off-Road. I want to replace the OEM tires. I mostly drive in the City but occasionally I take it off-road in Colorado mountains. The OEM tires are 265 75 16. I'm settling in on the BFG AT KO - it seems to be a good all-around tire and a popular choice on this forum. From previous posters, I am understanding that the 285-75 will also work on my X.
So here's my noob question: What is the advantage/disadvantage of upsizing from 265 to 285?
Also, any feedback on the BFG AT KO's snow performance will also be appreciated. Thanks!!!
