I know there are many threads about cruise control problems, but couldn't find one specific to my issue...

First noticed problem after reversing jumper cables on battery (accidentally, of course). About a year ago. A few fuses were replaced immediately, and everything else seemed to return to normal... except no Cruise Control (no lights, no power, no nothing).

Also (not sure if related) brake lights seem not to be working. I can't remember when this started. The bulbs will go on as they should, but won't brighten when pressing break pedal. I read somewhere that sometimes C/C won't work if brake lights don't work. Or at least that it could be an indicator of where to look? Not sure if this is true, or related...

Where to start?

perhaps a fuse/relay somewhere I missed?

ASCD switch...?

Thanks

Check fuse number 5 in the fuse block (J/B), 7.5 amp

Next, you may have blown the ASCD Hold Relay would be next first check. This is the only relay between the brake indicator and the CC

If that isn't it, you need to diagnose damage to the wiring harness or the ASCD main switch, less likely.Y

Yes, I have the pdf diagnostic manual....
