i have already installed a pioneer 3200bt touchscreen in my xterra and it sounded great for a while but the speakers are starting to sound like crap. so.. i was trying to decide between polk audio 6x9s or infinity 6x9s. or if someone has any other suggestions i am open to try new brands. i am installing them in the front and will wait to do the back. i was also wondering if i should soundproof the doors or would that be a waste of time and money. and what brand mat should i use. thanks in advance..

I bought some Kicker 6x9 speakers off Amazon and I'm pretty happy with the sound. However, I only put in one and its in the back of my X. The one 6x9 does a good job filling in music in rear. I'm not an audio expert but it was a great upgrade compared to the stock Rockford speaker.

Round Speakers ALWAYS sound better than oval speakers. You never see oval drivers in pair of home speakers, do you? Take whatever money you WERE gonna spend on your Polks/Infinities and spend the same amount on ROUND ones.

Why?
  1. Youll end up with BETTER speakers for the money
  2. You wont have to modify your door to fit 6×9's in the front doors
  3. Youll only have to spend $15 for the adapter to mount round speakers in the 6×9 opening in the rear (free with purchase if u buy @crutchfield)

hope this was helpful
