It's sad that we're often pushed into community for the purpose of serving our own ends, isn't it? How few of us must be a part of this group primarily to lend our experience to others. I wish I fell into that category. Oh well.

I purchased my 2001 XTerra in 2002 from a dealership in Honolulu. It is RWD, 3.3L SE model. White, with slightly-larger-than-stock tires, just because it gives it a slightly higher ride and it looks more aggressive. I had to trim the front wheel wells ever so slightly in order to make them fit in a tight turn. The truck has been great since we purchased it. I average less than 10k miles per year. She's sitting at 159K right now. It's a great vehicle, and has been used both as a daily driver and a not-so-daily driver. I look forward to getting to know some of you all as time goes by.

I've spent a lot of time under hoods of various vehicles. I'm no pro, but I know my way around. I'm sure I make rookie mistakes still, but thank God they're getting fewer and farther between.

If you wouldn't mind checking out this thread and lending your expert advice, that would be dope: http://www.clubxterra.org/forums/showthread.php?t=168378

Hey Beard! Welcome! I did notice your comments on other peoples' posts and appreciate them. I also saw your other thread, but am no mechanic so I really don't know what to tell you. There are some pretty great mechanics on here from what I'm seeing, but if you can get someone to respond that knows your answers can be a little tricky sometimes. I look forward to your future posts!

Welcome! Participation isn't what it used to be around here but use the search function and you can often find plenty of threads to read from when participation was greater. Beats waiting around for suggestions or ideas too.
