2004 3.3l Xterra, and it has a huge oil leak. It drips when not running, but after its warmed up it straight pours out like water. It's very bad. It's mainly coming from the center bottom hole in the bellhousing, but I also see some on both sides of where the tranny meets the engine, and all the way down to the bottom center. Valve covers aren't leaking. I have never in my life seen such a bad oil leak. Is it the rms, or oil pan gasket?? Is there any way to get a look at the back side of the pan gasket to see if it's the problem???

Likely a RMS if its coming from within the bellhousing of the trans. Possibly something farther up above but without poking my head in there or anyone else for that matter. its a scientific wild ass guess at this point.

I once over filled my oil and there must be an overflow somewhere that makes it look like it leaks from there. Either that or with the higher pressure it forced more oil out of there. May be something to check on.

seems the rear main seal in these trucks is prone to this, its a bitch but if you want it to last any longer get it fixed my 2000 did the same thing. the 3.3 had a different transmission in the older 90s pathfinders it was in and didnt seem to have rms issues. i think they changed the design for the 1st gen x
