looking to paint all the plastic on the outside of my 06 X. any ideas on what i should use? and any other tips that would help me out?

just use the search feature of the forum, there are at least 20 threads relating to different ways people have done their plastics.

Use the search on the red toolbar. The google custom can be a major pain.

For paint on the plastics you can use Krylon Fusion. Works really well and dozens of people have used it. As stated above search the word paint and you will get dozens of threads on the subject. http://www.clubxterra.org/forums/search.php?searchid=1485574
