Hi all:

I'm looking for information regarding a Transfer case / 4x4 problem I'm having with my 2002 Xterra SuperCharged. The 4x4 was working before I replaced the clutch, now it doesn't, I was hoping that it may be a simple tweak someone here may know about. I must say that the first gen Xterra's are a nightmare to work on. I've done tons of work on this thing since I bought it. lol I am also looking for a clutch safety switch (not sure if this is the proper description). It's the switch located on the driver side above the brake pedal. I was changing a master clutch cylinder when I broke the tit off it (for lack of a better description). I currently have it "McGyvered", with electrical tape, and tie wire to keep the switch on. Any info would be greatly appreciated. TIA

Sounds like something isn't connected properly somewhere my friend...just sayin, unless you busted into the tcase when doing your clutch, I would say it is something with the reinstall

Welcome as for your drive issue you'd have to describe the problem so we can have an idea what the issue is

My mech confirmed today that I do have 4H, and 2WD, but not 4L. The transfer case shift lever does not go through the proper range anymore. I can't get the Lever into the top most position, which should be 4H. 4H is now engaging below the normal position, and the lower most position would be the neutral position.
