Is seat belt "universal?"

2000 Xterra, front passenger seat belt socket, the "female" end if we're still allowed to say that - must replace. Dealer wants $86. "Universal" part online is $13. Will it click?

Maybe, maybe not.

I went through a similar thing when I wanted to get seatbelt extenders. I found some for my Chevy sedan, but they didn't fit my Xterra. I finally found some that fit and got them. If you can find some that the driver's latch, then you'll have the exact size you need and can then use that to hopefully find exactly what you're looking for.

It's $13, wouldn't be a huge loss if it doesn't work. You'll need to pull the seat, but IIRC there is a sensor in our buckles, so the part has to have a pigtail for that otherwise permanent seatbelt warning.

You can also disassemble your current buckle and clean/lube/rebuild it.

So who has the license to "Allow" anyway. Don't encourage this ghost community.

I agree. I have a number of male and female connectors on my rig, as well as a tranny. They've been called that for centuries. The cancel culture that wants everybody to be afraid to "say this" or "think that" is as dangerous as the Nazis in WW2.

You could try this one. It says it's compatible, is only $9. I'm pretty sure that it identifies as female.

You could also check Ebay for OEM that have been pulled from another X or check out your local junk yard.

Problem solved for $15 via Ebay, which assured me the part fit my Xterra. Just delivered, and it clicks!
