How do you change the spark plugs on a 02 SE S/C

i know that number 6 is the hardest one to and apparently alot of dealers wont even change it. but you appear to have a ps3 spam thing located in your signature you need to remove that no spam allowed here. but i dont think i saw a noob post from you so welcome to the club!

Spark #6 is hardest and I suggest avoiding that unless absolute necessary...

With some ratchet extensions, a little patience, and some bloody knuckles, you can get that #6 plug...it really isn't THAT hard to get to, I've done quite a few and it's not impossible...a little challenging, but after a few times it gets easier. It takes a little time, and it helps to wait for the engine to cool, then put a foot on the bumper, and kind of lean into the engine bay over top of the engine to get better leverage.

yeah dude #6 is really difficult but get a stool or ladder and literally hoover over the engine and have very patient and steady hands make sure you take compressed air and blow out every crevice where the spark plugs sit into its easy to get stuck dirt and crap to fall into the engine after the plugs come out. BUt for #6 i use a 6inch extension ontop of the spark plug socket connected to a universal which is then connected to a 10inch extension. I usually pull out the vaccum hose connecting to the back of the intake manifold. JUst when you crack it loose make sure the socket is seated properly otherwise it'll crack. Trust me you don't want that to happen. HOw many miles do you have on your X?

just have a bunch of extensions handy. and a wobbler. and a mirror and a flash light. mix all this with some patience, curse words, and knuckle gashes.

now factor in more time than you'd like and it's done.

just don't leave one unchanged plug. you'll feel better about life having 6 new ones.

i just finished mine today.....pretty rewarding.

Can you change all of the spark plugs but that hard to reach one and have that changed by nissan or a shop?

you what i agree with you james at first #6 was a damn PITA but once you get the technique down its actually not so bad. But then that leaves #4 which is right underneath two collant lines hella hard to get around but i changed that one out today actually took about an hour. For some reason its probably my fault but the dang ceramic keeps breaking on the plug and its causing a slight misfire and arcing against the block. I'm probably torquing it to much. Man i swear damn plugs have it in for me.

I wouldnt suggest blowing compressed air in there to try and get rid of dirt as it will usually blow more contaminants into the combustion chamber, as opposed to clearing the small amount of dirt that may be down in the spark plug hole out. If a small bit of dirt gets into the combustion chamber don't worry about it. It'll burn up and make its way out through the exhaust valves and you'll be fine. Just make sure nothing big falls down in there and you should be good to go.

Be sure you to check the Gap on all your plugs before installing them too.
