Hey everyone. So I have a 2014 Nissan Xterra. It says my stock tires are 265/70-16. I want to get the some nice offroad tires. I will admit they are purely for style, as I use my Jeep for offloading. I like my xterra too much. So my question is this, and I have my inspection this Friday so I need to figure it out now so I can order the tires.... What size tire can I get without having any issues as far as rubbing and etc.. I want to get bigger tires if possible.. From what I have read people are saying 285/70-16 or 285/75-16.... No life, totally stock..

What size tires can I get if I want to get some bigger tires without moding. Thanks in advance everyone!;)

I run 265/75-16 (stock size for OR or Pro-4x model) and have gone everywhere I want to go without problems on some BFG AT's.
If you want to go wider with the 285's you'll probably need to do the 'melt mod' which basically just entails using a heat gun and baseball bat to push out the plastic fender linings a bit to keep from rubbing at full lock or stuffed.

265/75/16 will fit fine. 285/75/16 will fit just as well with the melt mod, which is really just softening up the front wheel well liners and pushing back a little bump with nothing behind it.

Also read that some people don't even get rub, and if they do its so little that they just suck it up and deal with the noise when the wheel is turned all the way. If I get any rubbing after I put them on, I will def do the melt mod. Thanks. The 285/75-16 look bad ass.

GY Duratec. 285/75-16 or 265/75-16. I want to get the 285. But my buddy may be able to get me the 265 at work with his employee discount for $108 a tire. If that's the case I'm getting the 265, since they don't carry the 285.

After I get the 285 installed, depending on rub situation, am I able to do the melt mod with the tires on or do I have to remove them for sure.
And...
With the 285, how friendly are they as an every day driver.
