How's it going? So I'm in the market for a new to me Xterra. I have some questions about it, and I always find that there's no better place to get info about a certain vehicle than forums. So hello and I will be picking your brains for the time being. Hopefully soon I'll be an owner and will be able to post more often.

So I've heard of the Supercharged xterra's and I was wondering if they were worth it or if a N/A 6 cylinder is enough for most things. I would love to do some light 4x4ing, but mostly it will be for camping.

Personally I wouldn't get the S/C. Premium gas, it's still underpowered, and when the knock sensor goes (it will) it needs to be replaced, which is expensive.

I also wouldn't get 2wd. I don't see why you'd pay for the gas mileage on a vehicle that isn't going to do much better off road or in snow than a Civic.

You should decide if you want manual or auto. The first two seem fine. The more expensive one has much lower mileage. Are they close to blue book?

Also, the main thing you want to check is if the timing belt has been done. It's due at 105k or 7-8 years. The one with 85k probably hasn't been replaced but it needs it based on age.

Thanks guys. I called about the brown xterra and unfortunately it was sold. I'm not quite sure if I'm willing to get a manual transmission vehicle again. I live in Los Angeles and traffic can be a pain in the butt. Do the automatic transmission on these vehicles seem to last a decent time? If not maybe manual might be the way to go.
