I have done some research and this seems like a fairly easy process based on the DIY write-ups. However, I have a 2004 SE with the sunroof.. and none of the write-ups seem to have the sunroof.

SO I'm just wondering if anyone has some info on how to remove and reinstall the section of the headliner around the sunroof? I'm assuming I have to remove the trim around it, but I want to be sure to do this properly and be able to reattach it.

Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut...... That Xterra in the write-up doesn't have a sunroof, so it's of no help to this specific question.

I had the same question because mine also has a sunroof. The couple of folks that I asked who replaced their headliner with a sunroof said that it didn't add any extra complexity to the job. I never got a clear answer on the extra steps that would be added with having a sunroof, but it didn't seem like it made it any more difficult or you'd have to buy new weather stripping.

Its no harder only difference remove the trim ring around the sun roof and cut one more large hole .

Yep just take a pudy knife and start working around the edges.i think the key here is a big steady work table maybe a 4/8 plywood and a second person.

I did mine on the garage floor with some plastic sheeting beneath. BACKBREAKING! if you can get a table big enough, do so.
