So, i bought an 03' supercharged frontier, and when i tested the fuel injectors with my multimeter, 2 out of 6 tested double the resistance of the others. And another was stuck open. Currently trying to source some new ones which is proving to be a huge pain. I had purchased some that claimed to be genuine, even in a Nissan box and all that jazz. I should have known it was too good to be true, every injector was slightly different and the pintel was huge on these things, so i couldn't imagine the fuel atomizing very well at all.

Of course, i didn't realize until after removing the old ones, and due to the plastic being super worn, they cracked pretty bad and one of them is definitely unusable now.

Any input on where i can find some that aren't sucky? it seems like my only real option now is to just try and find a knockoff that isnt as bad. everywhere i look wants upwards of 130 bucks per injector. Insane!

I can find the pink injectors all over the place but not the black ones.

Probably a stupid question, but could i use the pink ones (replacing all of them of course). Has anyone done this?

Pink ones will not provide enough fuel. I thought they were still available at the dealer(certainly not cheap) and there are probably shops that can rebuild them. I haven’t had to deal with this yet so not much great advice.

Yea, that's what i was afraid of. Its sucks because i literally have a full set of pink ones just laying around lol

i saw that a vendor through rockauto was offering rebuilds (my last resort)

so i was doing some looking and saw that the injectors off of a 1996 infinity q45 have the same flow rate, as the vg33er injectors. Has anyone tried installing these before? They even seem to have the same connector and fitment.

Had a similar problem with my xterra.. All I did was buy some knockoff injectors on ebay and so far they seemed to be working properly..fans-autoshop | eBay Stores

I just bought a set of 6 reman injectors from MotorMan (see post here), but they are not Hitachi or JECS brand. They are pink, too. Mine is NA, not SC.

I just now tested them. 4 are 12.0 Ω, 2 are 11.9 Ω, so they pass the test of being between 11-13 Ω.

My plan is to start this weekend (today) to remove the upper plenum and then replace all 6 plugs, all injectors, and the FPR, all at once. Not sure if I'll finish this weekend, but I hope I do.

That said, I don't know if these will work or not, but I sure hope they do!

CHECK THIS OUT. The infinity q45 injectors should work. They have the exact same flow rate as the sc vg33er injectors. And they go for 30 bucks a pop from reputable brands. At work I looked it up and found a literal picture of one of these injectors installed in a fuel rail which is identical to the vg33 rail.

If you could post a link on this thread, or even make another thread after you figure out if they will work or not, so that in the future other people can reference it.

I think it's alway been hard for S/C people to find the injectors, so what you have found out I think is pretty big!

I'm having a hard time imagining that a $30 injector actually works! Refurbished or otherwise.

I just ordered a flow-matched set from Motorman for $273 after tax + shipping. comes with 8 injectors because the q45 is a v8. I'll let you guys know how it goes. Fingers crossed 🤞. Wish me luck guys
I hope they work! Especially since you may have ordered from there as a result of my post.

Watching this. Once I take the plenum off (won't be until I get my Toyota car fixed and my rear end sorted) to replace the FPR, I'll probably get new injectors. I'll try some for a Q45 tbh, just because someone has to, I'm looking forward to getting more of this truck sorted.

THEY FIT. connectors are identical too. they stick out a tiny bit more into the engine, but it should be fine. also, the motorman injectors actually seem pretty nice, they have the Nissan logo on them as well and all the resistance values are within range. I'll be making a separate post to let more people know after i install them. I'm hoping, they make the truck run a little better because they have a quad-jet spray pattern instead of a beam pattern. idk we shall see.

quad jet should atomize the fuel better.

update: the output end of the injector seems to have a slightly smaller shaft and therefore a smaller O-ring, but i think i can make something to make it seal better, or maybe a thicker O-ring will work. i'll keep you all posted.

Infiniti o ring groove is 7.7mm
xterra o ring groove is 10.2mm

i dont have the correct o rings on hand but they can be bought on McMaster carr with the proper o.d. and proper i.d. for about 12 for 100.

if you decide to measure in inches, you can find them way cheaper
id needed 5/16"
od needed 1/2"
cost is 2.87 for 100
these are rated up to 250 F but i've never had mine run above 195 F
