Hey, Im running an '01 x and I'm looking for a front lift. My plan is to do an axle flip in the rear but I'm having a heck of a time finding a kit for lifting just the front. I'm thinking I should get 3-4" in the rear. With the torsion suspension in the front I can push it up some but I kinda feel like trying to get that much out of it might be hard on the ball joints and so on. Any thoughts or idea's would be appreciated.

You can get new upper control arms but you can only crank the t bars up around 3" with them. That's really the only option short of SASing as far as front suspension lift.

Edit- whoops, way slow on that one.

A member did a SOA in the rear and only got a few inches out of it, but he had custom work done to the spring mounts. He also replaced the spring packs with ones that were pretty flat to begin with. I can't think of his name right now.

The SAS is what the wife want's in the front, Probably should go that way anyway. I've got a few month's to think about it/ investigate pro's and con's since im still in afgahnistan. What is the popular axle folks are using? I would like to maintain near the current width so no fullsize axle's. Dana 30 from a jeep is what comes to mind but I cant remember what side the differential is on.

The easiest and fastes SAS swap is the calmini sas kit.

It's pricy but comes with everything needed minus the axle, coil overs, and drive shaft. It's the most complete kit you can find and nearly everything is bolt on. The popular donor axle is out of a early to mid 80s jeep wagoneer Dana 44 cause they had nearly identical width as the xterra and also same lug pattern. One thing you'll want to do is make sure it has driver side drop and non vacuum disconnect. They are junk.
