when i bought my xterra it had no shake. i did the rotors and now it shakes. re-balanced the tires and that wasnt the problem. going slow there is no steering wheel shake but once you speed up the steering wheel shakes vigorously. i also put the whole hub assembly together just as ALLDATA told me to. and this isnt my first rotor change on an xterra. any ideas? :sickly: poor xterra

What torque are you using for the lug nuts?

hmm an impact gun
Try removing the lug nuts, and re-installing them with a torque wrench.

Many have found that impact guns, and/or UNEVEN tightening, can warp the rim enough to set up a wobble or shake....and all that was needed to fix it was re-torquing the lug nuts.

Its always worth it to try a free fix.

Warped rotors will only cause a shimmy while braking. It's more noticeable at 45+mph.
I agree, retorque all your lug nuts properly (in a star-pattern). 100 ft*lb, I believe.
