First Annual Florida Xterra Citrus Rally January 23rd & 24th.

Several of us are planning a weekend of trail riding, exploring and camping January 23rd and 24th in the Citrus Wildlife Management Area. I would like to invite all of the Florida (and non-Florida) Xterra owners to join us in what we hope will become an annual event.

Our plans are to ride the Citrus tract on Saturday, camping over night and doing another ride on Sunday. Some are planning on camping Friday night as well. Depending on the interest we might ride in the Croom or Richloam tracts on Sunday. This will be a family friendly event. In addition to 4WD trails there are hiking trails and several caves in the area to explore.

Please note: We are trying to keep this Xterra oriented. Please do not repost ride details or invites on other sites.

I am hoping we can get a good turn out for this event and do several more in 2016.

This post will be updated as we work out the schedule and details.

Please Post something or PM me if you are planning on going, have any questions or suggestions.

Trail System Description:
The trails at Citrus are mild but do have some attention getting sections if you chose to take them. Citrus is one of the safest places in our area to take a newer vehicle for a trail ride. The trails at Citrus are wide so your changes of paint damage are minimal. Also most obstacles have easy bypasses so you do not have to worry getting into a situation that will make you too uncomfortable.

Ride Requirements & Rules
1) Licensed/insured vehicles in safe/sound running condition only.
2) Must have at least 1 solid recover point on your vehicle. (Preferably two recovery points 1-Front & 1-Rear).
3) CB Radio highly recommended.
4) Follow Tread Lightly Principles: https://www.treadlightly.org/about-us/our-principles/
5) Be safe and reasonable….No drinking and driving etc.

Official Ride Camp Site: Holder Mine. This is a nice camp site that we have used on past events. It has sites with electrical hook ups, running water, clean restrooms and showers.

Frogstar try to make this one if you can. I am hoping to get many Florida Xterra owners as possible together at this run. I want see what we can do about getting better organized and doing more rides in different areas of the state. You know how to lead a mean Hardrock ride. I wanted to get with you about future Ocala/Hardrock and Osceola rides.
