Ive got a Drivers side left... I destroyed my passenger one, And theres a nice big ol dent in my rocker on the passenger side too.

ECXC 2008 I ditched mine (cause thats where I tore the passenger one up)

So reading this thread worries me a bit lol. I just picked up a 2011 pro 4X last night. Would I be better off taking them off when I go off road or leaving them on the truck since they are from the 4x? I don't know if the sliders that come on the 4x are any tougher or will they fail like the ones shown on this thread?

The pro4x is not supposed to have step rails in the first place so that it can have that extra clearance. Your dealer put some cheap ones on and charged you $1400 for it. They tried to do it to me. Take it back and have them removed.

That's what my dealer told me. Yet I still wantedthem on because the little ones and my wife have a hard time climbing up to get inside. lol I dont do any serious rock crawling so its all good for me.

I took the advice of the forum gods, I got rid of mine, luckly I found a guy that bought a modded xterra for his wife as a commuter vehicle and I swapped my step rails and some cash for the shrock sliders..........working for the bumper and which now lol

and with the sliders I can still step on them to access the roof with no problems
