Yes but you probable never get the check engine light to go out and if you need to pass inspection your SOL.

Yes it could help but two have different sensors and you need all the sensors from the donor and maybe there is no location to put the sensors, its getting very hard to change motors and still pass state inspections.Just the other day someone here bought a xterra with no ECM they couldnt get the check engine light to go out they ripped everything out sold it buyer beware!!

Ah I see how that could be an issue.. emission regulations are no fun at all haha

The 2002 xterra is a nightmare on engine or tran change out .Nissan came up with all these cool new ideas and then dumped them after one year make the 2002 a stand alone mess when tiring put a new or older engine or tran in for replace .

It can be done, but it would cost a lot of money unless you have a fab shop, etc.

Basically, the bell housings, clutch, tranny, exhaust, diffs, shafts, are going to be in the wrong clocking or position...

...the engine will have plugs to a harness that your X won't have anything to plug into, and, the harness will have plugs the engine won't have connections for, and so forth.

You'd have to swap over so much stuff, it would be EASIER to put the X's body on the working engine/tranny frame and call it a day.
