I just got off the phone with the nissan dealer, they want 7400 dollars for a new engine for my 07 xterra. Will a long block from other production years work with my engine?

ok sorry i don't know how to edit in this forum..
Id like to use another 4.0 long block from say a 07 -14 donor vehicle.. will my eco effectively govern a different model year long block?

Newer yes, but has to be the same year or newer to pass inspections...but absolutely it will...dealers are ripping you off for over 7k for a motor

Just an FYI, I have seen race motors built and installed for 7k, so if that is their quote, I would laugh at them straight to their face
