I recently purchased a used 2004 Xterra SE/XE 3.3L and it has what looks like a factory installed Donnelly auto dimming rear view mirror (might also have a compass and temp guage) but it hasn't worked since day 1. I recently redid the headliner and found the wires running out of the back of the mirror were clipped and taped off by the top of the driver's side A pillar. There were no other wires behind the A pillar for me to reconnect them to. It's 2 strands of double wires.

Hoping to find some kind of wiring instructions or replacement wiring kit so I don't have to buy a whole new mirror. I tried Googling it but haven't come up with anything useful. Any ideas? Thanks.

I did a little more Googling and think I found the correct replacement parts. I read that Donnelly and CIPA USA are now the same company and found the Wire Kit and Sensor. For anyone interested, they're as cheap as I could find them from Tow-N-Go Solutions out of MI:

Wire Kit: http://www.towngosolutions.com/CIPA...ith-Compass-and-Temperature-36400_p_1319.html

Temperature Sensor: http://www.towngosolutions.com/CIPA-EC210497-Auto-Dimming-Mirror-Temperature-Sensor_p_1417.html

Mirror product page: http://products.cipausa.com/product...-dimming-mirror-with-compass-and-temperature/

Amazon has them priced really high compared to TNG:

I'll try the install when they arrive in a few days and see if it works.
