So sliding this idea across everyone one here, I've had thoughts of doing a diesel swap in my 03' but don't know which motor to do. I would love to do a Cummings out of the new Frountiers or Titans but I bet those motors are pretty pricey. I would do a 5.9 Cummings but I have no idea if it will fit the engine bay, along with the fact of can the suspension hold the weight of the 5.9 or will i have to swap them out too. I also know the other part with the transmission and ECU. What do you guys think? Which way would you guys go? Trying to get an idea of where to start.

There is a guy doing a 4bt cummins and is nearly done with it.

his is very involved as he had to swap both the motor and tranny and even chop up his firewall and so on BUT it is a sick build and if you have fab skills go for it.

or if you like a more simple (and i use simple loosely) swap look at Roninjiro's diesel swap.

He ended up going with a Nissan TD27 turbo diesel. For the xterra this will be the easiest diesel swap you can get as it is a same motor offered over seas in the same chassis that the xterra has. a lot of the parts swap over such as the tranny and front dif and such. the Xterra was made for this motor. plus parts are easy to come by as its a very popular motor. This is the way I am going as I am planning a diesel swap as well. I want to keep as much nissan stuff as possible.
