Hi, I have a Nismo cold air intake and it has gotten pretty dirty. I was wondering how to clean it. I was thinking of using an air compressor but I did some research and I guess there is a product that you are supposed to spray on to it and then rinse it off. Can I just use an air compressor to blow all of the dirt and dust out?

Thanks

My guess would be that it is similar to a K&N filter, oiled gauze filter, so blowing it out with compressed air will not work. If it is like the K&N it will need to be washed, allowed to dry, and then re-oiled. Hopefully someone with a Nismo will be along shortly to confirm or deny this.

Typically with any of those type filters a wash in a mild detergent and allowing to dry is correct. Then apply a touch of oil (though some don't have you do the last step)

K&N has a cleaning kit that I would suggest using. It's like $15 at Pep Boys. First you spray it with a cleaner, then wash it, then oil it. I used it for my Volant and it works great.
