New to the club and glad to be here!

Got a new to me ‘01 SE with some exhaust troubles. Previous owner sawed off the driver side cat instead of unbolting from the manifold and it’s too close to the heat shield to weld back together. So I’m now faced with buying a new cat assembly as well as getting the old hardware off.

Any suggestions on where to source an OEM cat? I looked on Rock Auto and there are lots to choose from. I just don’t know what to go with. Thoughts?

I’ve been using the Eastern Catalytic ones from rock auto for a couple months, 2000 miles now, I think they’re decent but expensive relative to the rest on there. If you check CourtesyNissan.com I think it’s called, they have at least some actual OEM cats but they’re like $1,000 a piece. Just some better metals used in the OEM stuff I guess. Not a terribly difficult job either if you use a torch when needed to heat things up and douse everything in penetrating oil before hand
