Hello folks.

I'm currently in the middle of taking off the passenger side catalytic converter to get to my exhaust manifold (sporting several cracks ATM). The nuts for the upstream side came off (holding off on attempting the studs - those things look like they'd snap if I sneezed on them). The nuts on the downstream end came off easily enough but the bolts are another question. Tried PB spray, tried heat, tried a weightlifter with a hammer. Nada. For the OEM version, are those POS pressed into the flange? Gonna try cutting them off close to the flange so I can jimmy it out, but don't want to find out I have another problem with a bolt stuck in there. Currently sporting a 2003 S/C SE 4x4. Any advice would be welcome! Thanks!

studs

For the 2nd cat I thought they were studs welded in place.
The first cat has the removable studs.

If it is an aftermarket cat they would all be bolts most likely.

It has been a wile from when I last was looking at them so maybe I am confused.
